Invest well in your hair and skin for a beautiful life!

Many believe that the safest and best investment is to invest in oneself. Hair and skin care requires one to invest a whole lot of time, money and energy. And the result of this investment is always worth it.

Most of the times we end up dealing with irreparable damage done to our hair and skin and the most basic cause for this, that many overlook, is the fact that you just did not take adequate care. It is when we fail to take heed of our mother’s and grandmother’s ‘nuske’ as we call it, that we end up in a dead-end situation.

It is thus important that we understand the close relationship that is shared between hair care and skin care and then learn about the basic factors that shall contribute to ensuring for yourself smooth skin and lustrous hair. Proper cleansing is the first factor here and very often it is simple steps as these that we fail to ignore.

And here, excuses such as ‘don’t have time’ shall not work as you shall be pressed for time throughout your life and it shouldn’t be that you genuinely then don’t have the time to repair the damage.  Proper hydration is as important as adequate cleansing of the hair and skin. Water plays a very important role in nourishing both your hair and your skin. These are the factors that you must ensure become a part of your daily schedule in order that your hair and skin care problems stand long-resolved and never crop up again.

Once again the point that you must ponder upon here is that if you need to invest you might as well do that for the good health of your hair and skin.

No need to be afraid of the rains now!!!

The rhyme Rain! Rain Go away…come again another day is literally sung by all during the rainy season. Although we do need rain, the havoc it causes with the transport, road and not to mention to the people traveling is very likely a big problem. One such problem is our hair. Though loved never cared, that is the proper way to describe how we treat our hair. Under usual circumstances our manageable locks, have a life of their own during the rainy season. The more we tame the more they spring back to its original unruly state.  Here are some cool tips to follow.

1.    Shampoo and condition your hair with good quality hair shampoo and conditioner once every time you get wet during the monsoons. A leave- in conditioner after a hair wash protects the hair from damage by reducing frizz to a mighty extent .My best buy is L'Oreal Liss Extreme Reflexium Leave-In conditioner to tackle the frizzy hair.

2.    Combs work best to de- tangle knotty strands after the leave-in conditioner is applied on the hair and combed thereafter.

3.    Eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits this season. Secret tip would be drinks two cups of water just as you wake up followed by munching three almonds after breakfast.

Follow these simple methods and tame your fiery locks people… ;)

The Do's and Don'ts of Hair Care!

Hair are exposed to sudden showers and are often not completely dried. As a result, dandruff is rampant in this season. A recent survey by Clear suggested that scalp care is the lowest priority for Indians.. “Rain water has the tendency to seep in to the hair and penetrate into the hair shaft, thus making it weak,”.

Dos and dont's
Just as you massage oil, massage raw milk in your hair. Wash off after an hour.
Grandma’s advice still holds true. Give your hair a hundred strokes with a brush, before going to bed to increases the blood circulation.
Heat olive oil and massage into hair, this helps get rid of split-ends.
A paste of jaggery, curd, and multanni mitti applied on the scalp before shampooing keeps dandruff at bay.
With the heavy monsoon showers, we often tend to neglect our hair and take our beauty for granted. Sticky, limp locks and over the top frizzy hair can make you look outrageous. However, some cool hair tips and hair styles which will make super frizzy and dry hair, beautiful, manageable and super lustrous.

Make a Funky Pony This Monsoon Season!

Don’t let the monsoon get your spirits and hair down! Get a fab new make-over this rainy season for your hair with these dashing new looks which will save you time and a lot of headaches later on.

1.    The evening ponytail:  Just dress your hair up by teasing the crown, wrapping the front and top sections around a midheight pony and pinning them underneath. For an even more polished look, use a 1 1/4-inch curling iron to slightly curl the ends of the tail.

2.    The cheerleader ponytail: Straighten or curl your hair all over first. Grasp all hair in one hand down low. Start to pass the hair back and forth in your hands and go higher while doing so. Put your hair tie in and bobby pin down massive bumps. Secure with bobby pins or hair clips. You can also just tie the braid in with your pony.  Add a cute preppy ribbon.

3.    The teased ponytail: Put your hair in a basic ponytail, high or low doesn't matter but a low one would work best with very long hair. Put elastics down the ponytail every 2-3 inches, or 1 inch if you have short hair. Use small, thin, covered elastics -or rubber bands- that are close to the color of your hair. Pull the elastics down a little bit and then up again for pretty poof. Voila! Accessorize with a cute headband or head wrap.

4.    The half-up ponytail: Flip your hair upside-down and part your hair horizontally about a 1/3 away from your hairline. Brush the ponytail smooth or leave it messy. Secure with a hair-tie or a hair-clip.

These fast, easy and fun-to-do hairstyles are definitely going to make sure that heads turn in your direction! Enjoy!

How To Choose Bangs Which Will Suit Your Face Type.

Bangs are totally in vogue right now and why should you miss out on this latest chic style? Whether they’re blunt, side-swept, choppy or asymmetrical, bangs tend to look good on just about anyone. However before you reach for those scissors, consider that certain bangs look better on better face shapes.

1.       Heart shaped: People with heart shaped faces often have a higher forehead than other faces. Heart shaped faces often have sharp chins, so you will want a bang style that accentuates your eyes and cheekbones, not your chin. For this, side swept and longer off center bangs are a good look. Also depending on your hair type and thickness you could also try short bangs that are wispy or have a fringe look to them.

2.       Oval shaped: Your best bang look is going to be a little longer. Bangs that are just a bit below your eyebrows will look perfect. Thicker hair works well for a blunt cut, whether you go longer or shorter. If you have thinner hair, try a fringe or long wisps. Both of these bang looks will add width to your face so it looks more even and symmetrical. Be careful not to add too much volume to your bangs or your face will end up looking even longer.

3.       Square shaped: Long layered bangs that land right at or slightly below your eyebrows will suit such face structures best. Sweep them to the side and you have a different, but equally fabulous look. Don't let your bangs get too long and avoid blunt bangs at all costs as they will just accentuate the sharpness of your face.

4.       Round face: If your face is round you want to go for bangs that will elongate it, such as long bangs swept to the side or a light fringe. You want to try not to add volume to the sides of your head with short-layered bangs or anything choppy.

How to Make Curly Hair Into Straight Hair

Hairstyles are a big confusion for the women of today. Everyone likes something which is temporary, chic and yet makes a style statement. Similarly, many curly-haired people would die for a head full of pin-straight.We give u simple steps to get that perfect look from your curls to straight hair.

Steps:

1. Before getting into the shower, wet your hair with cold water. Use it like you have shampoo in your hair, when you start to put the water through your hair. When finished, comb hair straight.
2. Put a cup of oil through hair; this will ensure softness and silkiness which is most important for pin-straight hair! Keep the oil in for a minute and a half and rinse out with lukewarm water.
3.Once the oil is completely rinsed out, lightly shampoo hair. Leave shampoo in for one minute and then rinse out with cold water for some shine. Then lightly condition hair. Also leave on for one minute and rinse out with warm water.
4. After completely rinsing out both shampoo and conditioner, towel off any extra water. Wrap hair in towel, and leave the towel in there for 5 minutes.
5. Unwrap hair, and blow-dry it. Make sure all of the hair is completely dry before proceeding.
6. Part hair into an upper section and a lower section [half ponytail]. Clip upper section very high up.
7. Set hair straightener to appropriate setting for your hair texture/thickness/manageability [that will be indicated on box] and wait until it has warmed up to the appropriate heat setting.
8. Spray bottom half lightly with hair spray and massage the hair spray in lightly in a downward motion for a couple seconds.
9. Thoroughly straighten bottom half, and when done add some more hairspray, and massage it in. Optional: add a little glossing spray.
